Sadam Hussein allegedly was used by the CIA for the access to oil in the Middle East. He was also going to monetize
the oil trade money from US dollars to Euros, which the American powers that be didn't approve of. The talk of this
alone raised the Euro from 80 cents to the US dollar to well over a dollar. This caused drastic measures that was felt
needed to be taken by the US to re-adjust the control of the oil refinement and trade within the Middle East. So America
invaded.
There's also a Natural Gas pipeline planned to be developed in Afghanistan, along with an
Oil pipeline that the US would have probably cause to attempt to get their hands on. One theory of why the US wont simply
carpet bomb the empty hills and caves in Afghanistan, the 'Tora Bora" hills, where Al Qaeda is believed to be hiding out is
because there is gold within those hills, and the US has been reported to be mining those caves for the gold.

Our reasoning for invading Iraq was to eradicate the 'harboring terrorists' that was being held there and to find and
destroy and Weapons of Mass Destruction that was developed by the Iraqi government. However when we declared the war
and invaded we found no centralized source of the terrorists infrastructure beyond small loosely organized groups. We
also didn't find any largely threatening WMD's either. After this was found out, the mission became 'Operation Iraqi
Freedom' and now our whole and initial purpose of being there was to overthrow the tyrannical oppression of Sadam and
his family and institute a new democracy for their government. This war has gone on for well over eight years and is
only begging to show small progress. Its been depleting our Nations resources and soldiers for an over winded long haul
that wasn't even our actual intention of invasion in the first place.
